I've decided to write five of the Asmodeus/Raphael drabbles every month and post them on the first Sunday of each month. So unless I slack off or finish early (unlikely, lol), that means there'll be new A/R drabbles each month from now through February 2012. :D

This set of drabbles is all across the board. o__O Not only are they written in present tense (normally a technique I reserve for the Eastern Front series), but one drabble is really a Lucifer/Beelzebub story with Asmodeus thrown in at the end, and another "drabble" actually turned into a three page long fic. Hmm, my writing definitely seems to reflect my current scatter-brained end of the school semester mental state, but I hope it is enjoyable nonetheless.

Well, it's that time of the year again. ^__^ If anyone on my flist would like me to write them a drabble/ficlet of their choice, now is the time to throw your hat into the ring!

For those of you new to my journal, you're all welcome to comment with a request too. Just comment with at least a fandom. But you can also be more specific and suggest a character, pairing, prompt, or some other detail as well. Then I will post the resulting drabbles I write on Christmas Day!

Historical Fandoms I'll write for: French and Indian War, French Revolution, 1776/American Revolution, Victorian/Edwardian England, WWII/Nazi Germany.

Everything Else: Underworld, Hannibal Lecter series (book & movieverse), the Bible, Sherlock Holmes (bookverse), The Scarlet Pimpernel (based on any movie version, I've seen all three), Good Omens, Harry Potter (book & movieverse), Pirates of the Caribbean, Constantine/Hellblazer, any of my original stories.

Haha, you people don't even want to know how long this story has been hiding on my hard drive. About two years. Anyway, [livejournal.com profile] marian_vel reminded me of its existence so I pulled it out, edited some bits, and voila.

Short and sweet, Lucifer and Beelzebub have a private moment.

Title: All the Best Tunes
Fandom: Biblical mythology
Pairing: Lucifer/Beelzebub
Rating: PG
Summary: Beelzebub plays his violin.
Notes: I'm still trying to work out the balance for Beelzebub's character between brilliant manager and eccentric misanthrope so in this fic, he's speaking his pronouns according Elizabethan English rules. Testing to see how this speech pattern works for him.

The melody was haunting, sweeping, and pervasive. It was viciously beautiful and elegantly sweet. )

Whew, spent the better part of the weekend in the disgusting, hot attic. I've got waaay to much junk up there, and it is high time I got rid of a lot of it. This weekend I focused mainly on the books. I've simply hoarded collected too many, and I just can't keep all of them. So I am getting rid of 291 books.

I was rather impressed with myself; normally my cleaning endeavors don't go this well. Really though, I had a very good visualization technique. I would keep thinking: "I am moving into an apartment. Space is limited, and I need to cut down my book collection by 300 books." Worked like a charm. ;3 [FYI, I am not actually moving into an apartment just yet, alas.]

Some books I will give to friends, but most of them will be donated to the library. I do hope to sell a few books to a couple used bookstores too; I could go for an extra buck or two.

Anyway, more Bible ficlet as promised...

Title: An Easter Story – Part II: A Humorous Interlude
Fandom: the Bible (Book of Matthew in the New Testament)
Pairing: none
Rating: PG
Summary: Troubled down in Hell, Asmodeus finds himself compelled to visit Jesus's tomb.
Notes: Any Biblical references here were derived from Matthew's rendition of the Resurrection. Time period set around 33 AD.

After Jesus Christ had left Hell with the righteous souls of humanity, Asmodeus had lain curled up in bed for what he had been certain would be a very long nap. )

Surprise A/R fic! I'm trying to set up a separate journal just for my writing, and while going through fics on my hard drive, I found some Asmodeus/Raphael that I wrote in April '09 but forgot to post online. It's a rework of a crappy A/R fic I did back in 2005 called "Alleluia". Soooo old! *shudder*

Anyway, this time around I've fleshed the story out and spread it into three parts. So before I go to bed, here's Part 1 now, and when I wake up tomorrow, I'll proofread and then post part 2. Part 3 will be a rewrite of the original 2005 fic; that bit still needs some work, but it's almost done.

Title: An Easter Story – Part I: An Apostles' Creed Remix
Fandom: the Bible
Pairing: cryptically implied Asmodeus/Raphael, very mild Leviathan/Asmodeus
Rating: PG
Summary: After he died on the cross, Jesus went down to Hell to rescue the souls of the righteous and take them to Heaven.
Notes: Time period set around 33 AD.

"I believe in Jesus Christ [...who] suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again." –from the Apostles' Creed

The ceiling of Lucifer's throne room soared high, bolstered by curving, obsidian supports. )

Not a fic.

Sooo...I haven't written much Asmodeus/Raphael lately.

Cut for very loooong rambling about the woes of characterization. )

Berlin pics will be next! There's also some Nazi photos. I've almoooost finished with 'em!

This semester I have had the pleasure of writing, for a class, fanfiction (of a sort)—also known as my theatre class paper. For the assignment, I took two play characters Peter Stockman from An Enemy of the People and Leonid Gayev from The Cherry Orchard...and slashed them. XD
"An Epilogue in Paris"

And now for something completely different... I'll need this to distract me when I want to take a break from my financial accounting project tomorrow. -__-' Swiped from [livejournal.com profile] jestana:
Give me a character or pairing and I will write snippets of ten different alternate universe for it. One line, ten lines, a ficlet if you're lucky. [ETA: Or if you're very, very lucky a quick sketch. But that's a big maybe. XD]

2. cyberpunk:
3. furries:
4. pirates:

Whoo, I hope everyone had lovely holidays! Mine certainly rocked.

'Nother big thank you, [livejournal.com profile] airtravel, for the Christmas morning Raphael and Asmodeus art. That was amazing and caught me completely by surprise. ^__^ And thank you to [livejournal.com profile] jestana for the Asmodeus/Raphael fic (sooo hawt!) and for the really thoughtful British monarchy book you sent me. (I squeed when I unwrapped it.) Since I like to write historical fiction set in various time periods of Great Britain, that book will be such a handy quick reference. :D

Christmas Day was great for my family, and travel schedules coincided perfectly. My crazy relatives came to my family's house, everybody brought food, and we threw wrapping paper balls at each other, etc. A fun time was had by all, haha. And a fun time is still mine: there were some leftover mini-lobster rolls that my grandma made. Guess who's been washing the mayonnaise off and then dipping the lobster in butter? *grin*

Also, here are the Christmas ficlets plus one extra. War, coercion, oath breaking, mistaken identities, dead ducks, and demon porn! Happy Holidays, everybody!

Title: Green
Fandom: WWII era, original characters
Rating: a very mild PG-13
Pairing: Wilhelm/the General
Summary: Wilhelm cheers up his General.
Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] aurora_knight. It started off a bit angsty, my dear, but hopefully the ending is happy enough. ^^;

... )

Title: Forgiveness
Fandom: Biblical fiction
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Lucifer/Gabriel
Summary: In the wake of Jesus's Easter Resurrection, Gabriel tries to make amends with Lucifer.
Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] mypaleangel with the prompt "Forgiveness".

... )

Title: The Other Choice
Fandom: Pirates of the Caribbean/original characters (MoTF) crossover
Rating: PG
Pairing: James Norrington/Jean-Marie Florian Renault/André Marien
Summary: Norrington is starting to realize that maybe siding with Lord Beckett wasn't his brightest idea. Fortunately someone offers him a way out. [takes place between PotC 2 and 3]
Notes: For [livejournal.com profile] proudpansy. André managed to weasel his way in here too. Yay threesome, lol.

... )

Title: Priorities
Fandom: Shakespeare's Twelfth Night
Rating: PG
Pairing: Sebastian/Antonio
Summary: AU. Instead of returning to Olivia's house to marry her, Sebastian goes in search of Antonio.
Notes: For [livejournal.com profile] jestana. Antonio was one of my favorite characters in this play, the poor guy.

... )

Title: A Backhanded Compliment
Fandom: Good Omens
Rating: G
Pairing: none
Summary: After the not-Apocalypse, Aziraphale and Crowley are feeding the ducks in St. James Park when someone else joins them.
Notes: For [livejournal.com profile] airtravel. ^^

Nothing says 'Happy Holidays' like fic. *grin* For Christmas/other winter holidays, if you would like to request something, I'll write you a ficlet. So feel free to comment with a fandom, character, pairing, prompt, or quote, etc. whatever floats your goat.

Historical Fandoms I'll write for: French and Indian War, French Revolution, 1776/American Revolution, European Theater of WWII, Nazi Germany.

Everything Else: Underworld, Hannibal Lecter series (book & movieverse), the Bible, Sherlock Holmes, The Scarlet Pimpernel (based on any movie version, I've seen all three), Good Omens, Harry Potter (book & movieverse), Pirates of the Caribbean, Shakespeare's plays, Constantine/Hellblazer, any of my original stories.

Also, if you would also like a Christmas card from me, see this entry.

My university literary magazine's deadline was yesterday so I submitted a little art titled: Victorian Gentleman ) More like Victorian youth, haha, but I like him. He's totally period except for the hair (and possible the boots), lol. Even if this doesn't make it into the aegis magazine, I'm still considering it a smashing success. The art nouveau styling looks neat, and I really like how nicely the marker colors turned out (I'm trying to practice more with markers). It's a pretty finished piece. (Free internet cookies to anyone who can guess the building who's silhouette makes up the top of the pic.)

Oh, and for those of you who liked my characters Wilhelm and the General (from The Frozen General and The Broken Sergeant), you'll be pleased to know that the freakin' cold New Hampshire weather has inspired me to write more about my favorite Eastern front officers. *grin*

Got a nice mini-vacation today. Without any classes, I got a good bit of drawing done including a couple of the [livejournal.com profile] fanart50 pics in this post. *grin* So have some demon!Raphael.

new art )

Also went on Saturday to see the university theatre department's production of Curtains, a cute little musical comedy/murder mystery play set in the 1950's. It was pretty swell, especially the dancing—good grief the cast was limber! I was rather impressed that none of the guys blew out the seat of their pants doing some of the splits, haha. And there was one minor actor who looked like the love child of Edward Norton and Jack Davenport. :3

"maybe something between a Victorian or Edwardian couple (m/m). Something to do with reunion..."
Although it may have seemed like it, I did not forget this. ;3 Here's some Victorian slash (set a little while before the 1851 Great Exhibition). Plenty of angst and the itty-bittiest hint of steampunk.

Spring is in the air along with rain, frost, and 50 degree (Fahrenheit) afternoons—wait, what?!

Well, my calendar says it's spring at least...

Moving out of my dorm last Thursday went fairly smoothly, and once I got home, I launched into a saga of cleaning. It has truly been epic. Not only am I cleaning my room, but I've also been ruthlessly weeding out books from my collection and going through my area of the attic. I've been so busy that I didn't even set up my computer until days after I'd returned home. o__O There is also slight family craziness going on, but nothing too serious; seems to have quieted down for the moment.

I surfaced from the deluge of boxes on Tuesday to make use of a few Barnes & Noble coupons and get a few new articles of clothing. I hardly ever go clothes shopping so it was high time I get a few new things, especially considering how much weight I've lost since last year. Then today my mom and I did some grocery shopping (an outing we seriously enjoy, haha).

Also the wild turkeys have returned; I saw one meandering around in the misty afternoon. It does my heart good to see turkeys wandering through my backyard again.

And, of course, there is art too. God knows, it's languished enough waiting for me to post it! Here we have two sketches for a Thermidor AU fic where horrible things don't happen to Robespierre and Saint-Just (you'll notice in the images behind the cut that Robespierre's face was only grazed by the bullet that was fired at him).

I've also included two sketches of the lineart. I don't always do detailed quarter-page drafts before I start a drawing (usually I stick with thumbnail-sized stick figures, lol.), but the ideas for these came during a car trip so I had plenty of time to wile away.

click for images [WS] )

Hopefully they will both look nice when they're finished. I've never colored a French Revolution pic completely with colored pencils so this should be fun!

...I am going to try really, really hard to finish both the art and the story by Bastille Day.

Question to my flist. If I were to draw Raphael (that's this guy) in a Lolita-esque costume, what color should it be? Somehow, I can't decide. XD

[Poll #1374961]

Edit: Purple it is! Thank you everyone who voted! Poll is closed since I hope to start coloring soon. *wink*

Raphael: o_O You are all very not-nice people for encouraging this inappropriate behavior.

Asmodeus: WHOO!

(This is from a deviantART character meme in case any of you were wondering what the hell has possessed me. The meme can be found here if you're curious about the other things I'll be doing to Raphael, lol.)

Right now I'm working on a critical essay for my Greek class, but my brain can only take it for so long so I've taken a break to scan and upload the next batch of [livejournal.com profile] fanart50 Asmodeus/Raphael drawings that I finished last Sunday.

wheee! )
The next set of drawings will have a demon!Raphael theme. *grin* Should be interesting.

My university got the snow day. *weeps with joy* I haven't had to leave my cold-but-warmer-than-outside dorm so far, and it is truly wonderful. (I will be going to the gym in ten minutes but that's still less than three minutes away.) I am thinking I shall make a tasty grilled cheese sandwich for dinner tonight and nosh on that while I finish my history of Great Britain homework.

Though it's quiet, the art bunnies have really kicking, bless their evil hearts. So finally scanned, here are some more Asmodeus/Raphael drawings for the [livejournal.com profile] fanart50 prompts. I present the gratuitous wings set of drawings.

5. the writing on the wall [59 minutes]
This one turned out kind of dumb, probably because I messed up on Asmodeus's shadow.

9. protection [54 minutes]
Aw, Raphael is a sweetie. I drew this in between working on my art paper for Michelangelo's Pieta (the first one), and that sculpture seems to have influenced this drawing a bit, lol.

19. when I was young [3 hours, 51 minutes]
The colored one. *grin* I thought Asmodeus pre-Fall would be perfect for this prompt plus I've been wanting to draw him as an angel. He actually looks like a nice guy here and not like the pervy demon he would later become. XD

31. ghost [38 minutes]
This one is my favorite out of the batch! When he was an angel, Asmodeus belonged to the Cherubim so he had four wings. I enjoyed doodling the shapes of the wings sooo much.

38. closer [57 minutes]
Not too much to say about this one 'cept that I love their hands. *grin*

The prompt table and the rest of the art can be found here.

The fic bunnies have been a tad quiet lately (beaten into submission by all my homework *sigh*), but the art bunnies are more than making up for it. Last Friday, I happened to stumble across the [livejournal.com profile] fanart50 prompt table. The prompts were very interesting so of course I got inspired. I've been drawing mostly sketchier, less polished pics for the prompts, and so far it's been quite enjoyable.

Here is the first set of drawings: 07, 10, 18, 27, and 39. Five drawings down, forty-five to go... XD

Up next hopefully an illustrated French Revolution, 9 Thermidor AU. *crosses fingers*

Happy Holidays! I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas.

I got to see some of my family including my awesome cousin Chris yesterday. Honestly, though, this hasn't been one of the best Christmases ever for me. Unfortunately, I've been quite sick almost all week, and I'm still feeling pretty crappy.

Am a bit behind with the story requests, but here is the first half. They were fun to write and made me feel a bit better. The other ficlets should be showing up sometime tomorrow.

Title: Christmas in Vienna
Fandom: Underworld
For: [livejournal.com profile] pilar_sama
Rated: PG
Prompt: Lucian/Singe with snow.

Singe breathed deeply, and the cold, winter air of Vienna filled his lungs. )

Title: On a Quiet Night in Bethlehem
Fandom: Bible
For: [livejournal.com profile] jestana
Rated: PG-13
Prompt: Raphael and Asmodeus on the night of Jesus' birth.
Notes: You also end up with the two-for-one deal. This fic references and is kind of a sequel to one of my older stories, "An Angel's Mercy", but that fic I wrote back in February 2005 ergo it needed a serious face lift. So here 'tis, the new and improved and three pages longer An Angel's Mercy. ^^

It was very difficult, Asmodeus decided, to fight an angel when you had no power. )

Title: Green Like His Eyes
Fandom: Harry Potter
For: [livejournal.com profile] shinseikatsu
Rated: PG
Prompt: A Harry Potter/Neville Longbottom Christmas story.

There was always something that stood out, some practical item or pretty bauble that Neville just knew would be perfect for Harry. )
