spring break love + some Asmodeus/Raphael writing
Whoo, vacation has been a rollicking good time. *grin* Haven't gotten much art done, but I am writing a lot. *pleased* I've even finished some homework. For my next computer/web design project, I think I'm going to use Constantine the movie vs. Hellblazer the comic as my topic. I've been on a bit of a Hellblazer kick lately. John Constantine = my favorite British bastard.
Spring break has also given me a chance to watch some movies:
Beowulf: Suck and fail much? I was very disappointed with how the movie set-up the monster/heroes/sons relationships; honestly, I thought it was dumb, and I would have much preferred the movie without those twists. On the other hand, there were some redeeming factors: the Queen's character, the appearance of the dragon, and the scene where Grendel's mum killed a bunch of Beowulf's men in Hrothgar's hall. Those bits were kinda cool.
30 Days of Night: Not the best vampire story ever, but I have seen or read far, far worse. I thought the cast did an excellent job in this, and there were some genuinely thrilling parts. It was definitely worth watching although the vampires were a little...odd. Their funky shrieking language was sort of irritating after awhile.
Samurai Jack: The Premiere Movie: I never saw the entire movie start to finish so I thought it'd be worth renting, and it really was. I forgot how much I love this cartoon series! I'm honestly thinking about buying Season 1 sometime this week if it's not too pricey.
Took a brief break tonight from serious fic writing to play around with this a bit; 'twas enjoyable. ;3 Sentence prompts borrowed from
1sentence.
Pairing: Asmodeus/Raphael
Prompt Set: Alpha
Warnings: Copious abuse of the English language in general and punctuation in particular. I owe specific apologies to the comma, ellipsis, and semi-colon.
*sentences 31 and 32 are connected
#01 - Comfort. Knowing he 'did the right thing' is a cold comfort to Raphael, especially when the honeyed promises of Asmodeus's words sound particularly compelling.

#06 - Rain. Asmodeus screams like he's being flayed alive, but instead he's melting as raindrops pelt him, and Raphael is just standing there, and if he still had a mouth to do so, Asmodeus would curse his own foolishness for realizing too late that Raphael had blessed the fucking clouds.
#07 - Chocolate. Raphael never had much of a sweet tooth which is probably why he likes dark chocolate: it has a pleasantly bitter bite to it.
#08 - Happiness. "Mmm, what can I do to make you happy, healer?"; "You can drop dead; that would make me very happy."
#09 - Telephone. The sight of Raphael with a cell phone never fails to deeply and profoundly amuse Asmodeus.
#10 - Ears. The shadows shriek as Raphael slashes open Asmodeus's chest with a flaming sword, and their wailing cacophony is almost enough to make Raphael's ears bleed.

#13 - Death. Raphael finds the idea of actually killing Asmodeus to be a strangely unhappy notion.
#14 - Sex. Even though he knows he shouldn't, sometimes Raphael can't help wondering what sex would be like.

#16 - Weakness. One day the realization just blindsides Raphael; he wants what Asmodeus is offering.
#17 - Tears. When they came away from Raphael's face, Asmodeus's fingertips were scorched; the angel's tears were made of holy water.
#18 - Speed. Asmodeus fled from Sarah's home and raced across the deserts of Egypt like all of Hell was after him; Raphael could be mildly terrifying when he wanted to be.
#19 - Wind. There's a jab of pain, a rush of wind, and then Raphael's wings buckle, and he starts falling.
#20 - Freedom. Asmodeus sold his grace for freedom and never regretted it.

#24 - Taste. "Let me show you the forbidden fruit," Asmodeus purred with that convincing, sibilant voice, "...let me show you how good it tastesss."
#25 - Devotion. The two of them share a twisted sort of devotion: they're devoted to harassing each other, but it is a type of devotion nonetheless.
#26 - Forever. "Love is worthless, healer; nothing lasts forever."
#27 - Blood. Sitting across from Raphael, Asmodeus sips from a wine glass something that is not wine.
#28 - Sickness. These pangs of desire are the one sickness that Raphael can't manage to heal.
#29 - Melody. Asmodeus smiles at the screams that burst from Jeliel's bloodied mouth as his shadows rip her wings off.
#30 - Star. They touch—finally, willingly—and their auras shudder with an intensity that could rend stars.
#31 - Home. "Asmodeus, do you really think of Hell as Home?"
#32 - Confusion. Asmodeus looks away, unable to answer, and Raphael has the mercy not to ask again.
#33 - Fear. Raphael is scared to Fall, but he's even more horrified to find that that fear of Falling is still not enough to keep him from pursuing Asmodeus.
#34 - Lightning/Thunder. Raphael's punch lands with the force of a lightning bolt, and Asmodeus remembers too late who he's dealing with.
#35 - Bonds. Asmodeus is fairly sure that he could force the issue by pinning Raphael down with shadows and then having his wicked way with the angel, but that's not enough for the demon; he wants Raphael to be willing.
#36 - Market. Once when he was strolling through Dis's marketplace, Asmodeus found two gleaming emeralds that matched Raphael's eyes perfectly; the gems reside now in one of the demon's trunks until he can come up with the perfect ploy to give them to the angelic healer.
#37 - Technology. It was an amusing shock to see Raphael fiddling frustratedly with a computer.
#38 - Gift. "It is a gift"..."What's the catch, healer?"..."There isn't one, honest!"
#39 - Smile. If it wasn't for the fangs, Raphael thinks Asmodeus's smile might actually be sweet.
#40 - Innocence. Asmodeus doesn't know what he wants more: to take Raphael's innocence or to be forever chasing after it.
#41 - Completion. Raphael gasped and pulled Asmodeus closer, and the demon shuddered against him; they were Light and Dark, two halves of a whole.
#42 - Clouds. Raphael soars with unflagging speed, finally ditching Asmodeus after flying through a cloudbank.
#43 - Sky. Asmodeus's eyes were once the color of a soft, grey morning sky.
#44 - Heaven. Asmodeus remembers Heaven only in vague terms; he doesn't know if Raphael knew him as an angel, but the demon doesn't ask about it; the Marquis is too afraid of the answers.
#45 - Hell. Raphael lies, besmirched and broken, in the dust on Dis's unholy ground; "Hell looks good on you," Asmodeus sneers.
#46 - Sun. Sunlight pulls out the highlights in Raphael's auburn hair, and it almost looks as if his halo is exposed.
#47 - Moon. Moonlight shines off of Asmodeus's scarlet eyes, and they gleam like rubies in the shadows.
#48 - Waves. Limbs, wings, and weapons hopelessly tangled, they both fall from the sky and go plunging into the ocean, jostled further by the roiling waves.
#49 - Hair. Despite the changing human fashions, Raphael never shortened the length of his hair, and Asmodeus was secretly glad for that.
#50 - Supernova. Raphael hauls the demon to him, and their lips meet, and it's like a dying star gone supernova, and Asmodeus kisses back with all the passion he can muster because he'd actually almost forgotten how brightly Love can burn.
p.s. I am still taking drabble requests so if you would like me to write you something, feel free to comment at this post.

Dear Self,
When the fanfic has more than three errors in the first sentence, spare us the brain-hurting trauma and just stop reading before it gets worse. Because it will get worse.
No love,
