fanart50: Asmodeus/Raphael

The fic bunnies have been a tad quiet lately (beaten into submission by all my homework *sigh*), but the art bunnies are more than making up for it. Last Friday, I happened to stumble across the fanart50 prompt table. The prompts were very interesting so of course I got inspired. I've been drawing mostly sketchier, less polished pics for the prompts, and so far it's been quite enjoyable.

Here is the first set of drawings: 07, 10, 18, 27, and 39. Five drawings down, forty-five to go... XD

Note on #10: Holy frick, I love how this one came out. *grin* For those not familiar with the book of Tobit, Raphael puts a binding spell on Asmodeus after chasing him to Upper Egypt. It probably didn't go quite like this, but drawing naughty!Raphael was surprisingly satisfying. *snerk*

Also, to make this challenge more interesting (and to hopefully finish it sometime this year, lol), I've decided to time myself: every drawing except for ten of them has to be finished in an hour or less. *grin* My times for this round were:
07: 55 minutes
10: 58 minutes
18: 50 minutes
27: 55 minutes
39: 2 hours, 40 minutes



Up next hopefully an illustrated French Revolution, 9 Thermidor AU. *crosses fingers*

#7 is so sexy, with the anticipation of the kissage and all. *grin*

And #10! Whoo! *fans self* If Asmodeus didn't look so put out, it could so be something else. *smirk*

#18, it almost looks as if Raphael is an automaton rather than an angel. What happened? *worried*

#27 broke my heart. Not just the obvious with the wings, but also the posture. He looks like his world has just ended.

#39 cheered me right up, though. I love that little exchange and what it means for them as a couple. *happy sigh*

Bravo! I don't know whether I should encourage you to keep drawing these or try to go back to writing the drabbles. *pout* I don't suppose you could do both? *amused*

Gah, I just enjoyed drawing #10 so much. Especially Raphael's hands. Now if only someone could convince Asmodeus that letting an angel top him is a good idea... XD

For #18, I left Raphael as just lines with the eyes undrawn to give him a more impersonal look. As for what happened, my guess is that Asmodeus said something genuinely cruel vs. teasing or mocking.

#39 has to be the first nice A/R pic I've ever drawn. It's all sweet, and Asmodeus is even respecting Raphael's personal space more than usual. o__O

I would so love to do both with equal alacrity. I certainly don't lack for ideas. But time... School permitting though, I hope to have something for this weekend. I also have a feeling that the drawings will start inspiring drabbles and vice versa... *grin*
