The opening notes instantly made me think of Hannibal playing the piano

And then that leads perfectly into the next lyric!

*grin* That was an unexpected clip choice. I was originally looking for tired!Molly pics for the previous lyric, and then I saw this clip, and I was all 'oooh! perfect!'

particularly showing his frustration overriding his good manners and Hannibal completely not helping.

I always loved that scene in the movie. Will's totally disregarding keeping Hannibal at arm's length. He's so passionately desperate by now to catch the Toothfairy, and Hannibal is still all 'NO!'

Exactly. It's so Will's character: For that one instant he wants to just give up and give in (gun drops), but in the end, morals/virtues/etc. win out (when Will stabs Hannibal with the arrows then shoots him).
